But with the news that they apparently skipped Magiranger and totally ignored the Dino Thunder and MMPR contributions when naming Orion's zord, I fear this is gonna go down hill really fast.

I feared it was gonna go downhill really fast, when an epic set up was entirely wrapped up by the end of the first episode. Y'know, the Earth is being invaded...there are spaceships in the Earth's atmosphere...apparently there are no emergency services in operation.
