Lucario was actually just pissed because he thought that his only friend was a hypocritical coward that ran off during a massive war and betrayed him and the kingdom, along with him just coming across a snarly brooder that 14-year-old girls write Mary Sue fanfics about.

Maybe it's that I just don't like some elements of the design, maybe it's that his VA sounds perpetually pissed off, maybe it's because I don't like many of the super popular Pokemon (Gen6 is the first time I've ever used Charizard and I deliberately picked Chespin because everyone and their inexplicably hot, young, Professor-dating mom picked either Fennekin or Froakie), maybe it's that when I first saw Lucario in action he came across as the unique flavor of "angsty" that well-to-do middle school anime fans* love, but I don't like Lucario and I doubt I ever will.

Though to his credit, the jackel has Eagle Vision...

*Note: by "fans" I'm referring to the kid that just discovered anime (and Japan as a whole) and throws around Japanese words while they watch Linkin Park AMVs in between episodes of Naruto on Toonami's final run. You know, the period when Tom was orange and blue and had a Thomas the Tank Engine face.
