I've gotta say I'm really not a fan of this mecha yet, either.
After Kyoryuger really pushed the quality and engineering of the suits (even as things started to get "stacked" for the most part - at least so far - they've still managed to remain looking sturdy and solid and not like they're gonna imminently fall to bits) but I dunno, it feels like this mech has taken a giant step backwards in terms of quality and engineering.
The ten foot high shoulder pads look flimsy and because of the battle between the proportions of the idea and the proportions of the human body everything about it feels awkward, like a teenager who is starting to grow out into a man but is caught in that awkward between stage.
Whereas - for better or worse - Kyoryuger padded its mech fights with elaborate CG movement, in both of the mech fights so far in ToQ they just kinda stood there...did a special attack...the end. A thirty second sequence which is tacked on and pointless is just the worst for me, they act like sentai is progressive but so far the giant stuff has been 100 percent toy focused and hasn't added to the story in any way.
It's frustrating as well, because when they use individual resha for dog fights and swashbuckling duels it clearly shows they have a big imagination to make them really awesome, so it seems so lame...that it is so lame when they all come together.
