I'm torn. One one hand, I like that they're changing Noah's character a bit to match the badass swordsman that is Gokai Blue in the sentai footage. But this isn't a nerdy, weak character suddenly becoming an accomplished fighter - yes, they've had one season under their belts as Rangers but they never acknowledged Noah was improving. There was that one episode where Noah gained confidence, and then he stopped developing like any character not getting a focus episode.

I kind of hate that this is, like Samurai, a translation of the sentai script. I do appreciate they're injecting Noah's reasoning into being a loner this time around - "if I get better, the team gets better." That actually makes sense, and I like they didn't just suddenly plant Joe's lone wolf personality onto Noah.

This scene is not entirely consistent with the characters, but it's still somehow entertaining.
