Well maybe I'm in the minority then, but a Ryuusei-Oh for example is a meaningless string of letters to me, it's just gibberish. Dragon Star-Lord sounds clunky as fuck, and goofy as all hell, but at least each one of those words is something I can directly associate meaning too.

Same with shit in Boukenger like 'Bouken Bou'. Bou, means rod and I think bouken means adventure? So why even leave it as boukenbou? Because Adventure Rod sounds dumb? But that is what those words mean... You could say that it seems needlessly nitpicky but I just find the attitude in the first place baffling.

There is a difference between character names as in human beings, I agree, we should leave that alone. William would never be addressed as 'helmet'. But weapons, mecha etc are objects, the name for them is what that object is, not a personal identifier for a unique one, so leaving those translations unfinished is stupid.

If it was like 'Sam the Bouken Bou', you'd leave the name alone but that is 'Sam', not the rest. I have no fucking idea what a bouken is or a bou is and just giving me a ten second TL note at the top for a split second doesn't help me associate meaning for the rest of the series.
