I watch Ultraman for more or less the same reason I watch classic Doctor Who. Less focus on overarching plots and more on individual stories, many of which are bizarre and near hallucinogenic.

Don't get me wrong, plots aren't the devil. They just aren't the main appeal. At least not fot me.
