If I recall correctly, turning evil after the power transfer with Kuo let's you have access to Nix's powers and vice versa with evil to good. Don't hold me on it though.

Besides, you'll have to play through it twice anyway. There are two endings like the first game, one good and one evil. They are very twist ending-y, so I won't give away the details beyond that the two endings exist.
