And beyond all this, it doesn't explain how the Tommy Rangers ended up with MORE votes after the purge than they did before it.

Thank you for saying what I was about to... Even if there were one - and I see nothing indicating that happened - Bandai wouldn't have any way to know. And even then a well written bot wouldn't be coming from a static location, but would be routing itself around the globe to mask an attack.

What seems much more likely is a person with the appropriate connections made a complaint and they blindly listened to said person (citing the influx in voting as a "bot" or what have you, ignoring the fact that no, there was just that much attention generated towards this contest) and adjusted things in their favor...
