You pretty much stated how I feel about the villains. Basco was ruthless and cruel who only cared for one thing and would go to extreme measures to get what he wanted. He was only in 10 episodes but he made such an impact that I consider him one of the greatest villains of all time. Plus he had one of the greatest motto......."In order to gain something, you must give something up."
Most don't care for the Zangyack but they aren't as bad as people make them out to be. Warz Gill was a whiny spoil brat but he just wanted to prove to his father that he could conquer a planet without the assistance of others. Also the dynamic he had with Barizog was one that was unique. Warz considered him as friend more than he did as his bodyguard and how hurt Warz was when he learned of his death proved that.
