I honestly can't see how someone could not find Zangyack engaging sheerly through their entertainment and quirks. I know its all subjective, but I find the Zangyack incredibly entertaining, which is not something I'd be able to say about villains such as the Goumin or Warstar, therefore I think they succeed very well. When the villains inevitably were killed I was really sad to see them go, which is incredibly rare for a Sentai villain. And its not just me, the success of them is clear with the merchandise of them released alone, getting what I believe is the only villain-specific art book in the entire franchise and one of the very, very few Sentai villain Figuarts plus a statue.

And I can't fault a Toku villain for failing. I mean, come on, the entire genre is based on villains of the week coming down, being defeated and then replaced next episode. If you have a problem with that then you've got a problem with the entire genre. Even darker villains like the Vyram failed each and every episode.

Sentai has plenty of crappy villain teams, but the Zangyack are definitely not among them.
