Gokaiger 49. The greatest treasure...is the triforce?!

When they introduced the conflict of the fact they couldn't use the remaining five powers because Basco took them by force, I thought a really interesting dynamic had been introduced. But by the time the OPENING credits had rolled, they'd already resolved it... that was pointless.

The next piece of narrative conflict, is sadly utterly pathetic, but also ends up being what the episode is shaped by. The Will of The Earth literally gives you the power to do ANYTHING so you could wish that there was never evil and never will there be evil again. Moral and ethical debates aside, of course. So why is that not worth sacrificing the super sentai powers? The super sentai powers only exist to fight evil, all of the Rangers already gave up their powers to push back evil, so surely removing evil from reality itself is worth also removing the powers from reality itself? I don't get what the problem is here? Choosing to not sacrifice them is just not the most logical choice in any scenario, unless your wish is to see Luka in a maid outfit again.

And if it could be any worse, they chuck in an utterly pointless mech battle right in the middle of the proceedings for no real purpose at all. Because y'know, the mech battles aren't the single most boring part of this show, or anything.

I mean honestly Insarn was pretty cool, but I don't think having a good send off should mean you should also forgive a bad villain. And sadly, that is all Insarn really has been as the most she has done in the entire series was make us laugh in the Carranger episode. Shinknger's villains may have sat on their hands for a lot of the season, but they had in story reasons too. Whether you like them or not, that is up to you.

There is absolutely no in story reason for why the Zangyack are so shit. Especially when you see so many flashbacks of decimated worlds under their reign. And yes I get if they sent all their ships down at once there'd be no story which is why they've had to save it for the last couple of episodes of the season. But the show makes no attempt to truly explain why one monster is being sent down one at a time while about a thousand ships just sit in orbit and if they show doesn't convince me of one of its most basic, core elements then we have a problem here.
