I'm not sure...If Bandai could step up, they would. Most of their combining mecha transform in such a manner that an elbow and knee wouldn't interfere or look unnatural, yet they still stick with just "Arm forward, leg forward (Sometimes)."
I would never spend a dime on a 3rd Party zord (3rd party TFs going for $100 a pop, I shudder to think how much they'd charge for a megazord), but I wouldn't be opposed to someone actually try making them.
