As we all know, Gaim is based on the Sengoku period of Japan. As such, there were four prominent figures during that period, Oda Nobunaga, Akechi Mitsuhide, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and Ieyasu.
In Gaim, we have four main riders, Kouta, Kaito, Micchy, and Takatora.
As such, it is apparent that each of these riders represent one of the main figures from actual history. We can easily say Micchy is Akechi as Akechi betrays Nobunaga and helps assassinate him, similar to how Micchy is betrays Kouta and Takatora. Then we have Kaito, who despite the similarities that Jounouchi shares with Ieyasu, he is without a doubt Ieyasu.
However, now it comes down to Takatora and Kouta, and I'm not sure which one would be Nobunaga, and which one would be Hideyoshi. From the main character perspective, it would seem like Kouta would be Nobunaga as he is the main character to the show, which is always what the story of this period tends to focus on. However, Takatora started the whole story by himself similar to Nobunaga and it could be that his eventual alliance with Kouta symbolizes Nobunaga's alliance with Hideyoshi. I also belief that Bicchy's betrayal towards Takatora in the forest as he watched Ryoumi and gang try to kill his brother is meant to represent Akechi helping to kill Nobunaga at Honnoji Temple.
I also feel that the Inves represent the foreigners (specifically the Dutch) who entered Japan during this time and began to spread Christianity. This also brings forth my theory that the leader we see for the Overlords is Adam and the one in the tomb (and Mai's Final Fantasy cosplay) is Eve.
So who would you say is Nobunaga, Kouta or Takatora?
