Up through episode 6 of Gurren Lagann. I'm definitely enjoying it, but not as much as I expected to based on what several people I know said about it. So far, it hasn't felt like it's gone anywhere and episode 6 in particular was frustrating because it was basically an extended flashback. I've seen plenty of anime with flashback/clip show episodes, but this is probably the earliest one I've ever seen only six episodes in. I'm hoping it'll improve as it goes though, and I certainly don't dislike it. I was unsure about Steins;Gate at first as well, but it ended up as one of my favorites by the time it ended.

Maybe it would if I was 12 but pushing twenty three I require a little more stimulation.
It tried to be an atmospheric mood piece but was simultaneously much too juvenile and too damn slow to achieve anything other than sending me to sleep.
Totally agree. I really wanted to like AoT, as I think it has a good sense of atmosphere and the overall plot is quite intriguing. Unfortunately, the pacing was just far too slow, with long gaps of very little happening between short bursts of significant plot development. I also didn't really find any of the characters that interesting, with the exception of Erwin whom I liked. Again, I really wanted to like it and I think the story has great potential, but the problems outweigh the positives for me in this case, unfortunately.
