1,500 years ago a battle unlike any other began in the realm of humanity. The gates to the underworld opened and the Oni which populated it exited their world and into ours, they bringing death and destruction with them. Right when it seemed the world was doomed to die, a hero descended from the heavens and defeated the Oni, the hero causing them to return to the underworld.

A small tribe witnessed this events and incorporated this event into a legend for their tribe. And so the legend began and carried on that every 100 years the Oni would return and would bring forth the hero of legend to protect the people and the world. However in the year 1515 the Oni returned, but the hero did not. As a result all but two of the tribe were slaughtered, the Oni only being driven back to where they belong when a group of samurai was able to defeat them.

From there on out the Oni nor the hero ever returned. But now in present times the Oni have suddenly returned to bring chaos to the world. But with them comes a new age that needs a new hero. The hero has returned and will create a new world of peace for all.
