Great pictures!
No they don't lock up at all unfortunately, my apologies for being confusing. They are transformed in the same manner for both modes, but don't lock into place for either.

One thing I disagree on though - is it fair to call the lack of ports for the chest/tail on Mega Dragonzord inaccurate? The show version of it/Zyutei Daizyujin never had those parts hanging down from it, they were a toy only feature. It's more of an omission than an inaccuracy.
I only call it an inaccuracy because the toy could do so. I realize it's a toy only thing, but for a toy that's an $80-100 collector's piece striving to be the "ultimate" version of this toy for a Power Rangers collector, that omission or inaccuracy seems very glaring. But perhaps inaccurate isn't the appropriate term to describe it.'
For me personally, I love the general look of this thing. But I can't say I feel good about what I paid for it. It's still a cheap alternative to the original, and to be fair it does have it's high points. But it has just as many low points as well.

I believe that's the case. Rather than going full force one direction or the other, they attempted to compromise. To a degree it works. But if they were going to include Zord Builder they really should have gone all out with it. Then I might understand better how they plan to have Tigerzord combine with it later seeing as that's an advertised feature.
