The car appears to be a Honda NSX-T (Acura NSX-T in the US) with some interesting modifications.

The pictures make it hard to tell but I'm thinking it's a T based on the modified roof (easier to do with a removable panel) and what appear to be seal lines in the front and back at the top of the door windows (at the A and B pillars).

Other than the roof, it looks like they've touch just about every panel on the car (hood, rear deck lid, fenders, doors, rear quarters, both bumpers).

What's both interesting and odd about their selection of the NSX as the base car is it's no longer in production and is considered a modern classic. Never sold in large numbers, they can be hard to find in good condition (un-modified, not raced, etc) and weren't cheap.

So they picked a car they can't do cross promotional work with (as it's no longer in production), that was more expensive than many other sports cars and can expensive to repair.

So, yea, interesting but in a fun way. Makes me wonder if we won't see a Toyota Supra, Nissan R34 Skyline or Nisan S15 Silvia later in the series.
