there were attempted assassionations on Dianna Soreil. it didn't have disintegrating shields but Turn A Gundam did have shields that deflected all the blast from the militia, and while Turn A Gundam didn't blow up cities macross style, they did come down and destroy cities, AND HELL THE WHOLE CONCEPT WAS DROPPING COLONIES ON EARTH!
