I know you have a large collection, and it is respectable to support the creators in such a way.

Personally, I simply cannot do that. Many a time, I've been tempted to, especially when the thing is not available here. For example, US releases of My Little Pony are far more up to date than here. They're also much cheaper at half the price. But I can't bring myself to buy them because to me I am paying to circumvent the license. It's either I pay Madman (the local distributor), or I do without. So I have done without, because Madman's releases are too slow and overpriced.

My rationale is, why should I pay for something that doesn't feel fully official? That was not meant to be sold to me? That I have to circumvent some DRM somehow, such as by getting a region-free player. It doesn't feel like a complete experience, in my opinion.

Of course, this is just my opinion, for me.
