Ringu is not what I expected at all, but in a good way, when anybody talks about it or it's remakes they sell it as the ultiamte scarefest, so I expected a very gory and screamerish movie.

It's not, its actually a more suspenful movie where a reporter and her ex-husband slowly unravel the mystery behind the tape, it's even slow at some parts, not unbearably so, but simply calm.

The final act is excellent, as soon as the story behind Sadako starts unraveling it gets incredibly engaging, and the conclusion is extremely satisfying, it's a great and memorable ending.

And it scared me once, so kudos to it!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Not sure why you thought it would be gory, though I can understand the screamerish part. But anyways glad you liked it. Now get back in the chair because you have a shit ton more of the movies to watch
