Chapter 2 part 5:Comes the dawn and our doom.

Grant was thankful he had that police radio receiver installed when he had the chance. It's bad enough the people captured by this "Cyborg Drake" fellow are still in his clutches, but the Nightmarangers are now in danger too. Skidding to the shopping center, he was able to catch a glimpse of the plantlike fiend.'Weren't they called the 30 Stars of Darkness or something like that' he thought. No matter what stupid title Overshadow gave to his generals, there were people to save and little time to do so. So he did the thing most detectives have done in his situation:

He ran over Cyborg Drake with his car.

"I bet you weren't expecting that, huh?!?" he thundered over the roar of his engine. While it was true C. Drake wasn't prepared for what had happened, he did have time to shoot a sonic wave at Detective Garrenson as he was gloating, causing his car to spin out violently. But as luck would have it a piece of shrapnel zipped by the vines that tied up Takato, cutting him free. Of course Takato ran straight for Cyborg Drake, paying no mind to Grant, who was painfully dizzy by the time the car stopped spinning.

"Hey, are you alright? You gave me a bit of a scare there, Grant" Nightmare Blue replied to the still dizzy Garrenson. Grant tried to reply but vomited by Greg's feet."I'll take that as a yes" Knowing that when he recovered he would free the others N. Blue rushed over to where the other Nightmarangers were just getting up.

"Ugh, remind me to weed our walkway later" Red said groggily. Green coughed a little bit in pain but was still able to get both herself and Pink on their feet."I doubt I'll be spending as much time in here ever again. Oh well, it just means I'll save more money that way" Pink croaked out."Nice ta see you're doing alright, Pink" Green half laughed at what she had said before.

Alasdair was about to attack when Takato sprayed weed killer at Cyborg Drake, burning him badly."You've outgrowned your stay here, monster! No monster shall be spared my righteous wraith, for it is my duty to kill all MONSTERS!" roaring out the last words like a battlecry.Alasdair was disgusted by Takato's words but he was till grateful they now have a window of opportunity to finally take down C. Drake."I wish to deal with this fool as soon as possible. I grow weary of this battle!"

"Alright everyone, let's show Drake a real performance!" Red cried out in triumph. Unholstering their Lantern Blasters they tend turned them into their Torch Sword modes."I'm all for a woodsy look, but you just can't pull it off, Drake"Green giggled. Typing in the words "Enclosing Doom" on their Cloaking Cells, soon all five were armed with glowing blades in each Nightmaranger's colors. A hologram of a 19th century alleyway soon surrounded Cyborg Drake as a hard light brick wall touched his back. The five Nightmarangers walked in, holding the blazing Torch Swords overhead before swinging them down, causing five blades of energy to charge into C. Drake. Cyborg Drake tried to stand after this but before long he blew up and thankfully it wasn't as loud as his voice.

Over at Ironclash Castle Overshadow wasn't pleased by this at all. He needed test subjects to see if the Dragon Phone, but Cyborg Drake's ego got the best of him."Master, perhaps now is the time to see if the growth serum has been perfected" Cyprode vocalized to Overshadow. But he was staring at the groggy Grant as he freed the last of the hostages. Somehow he felt he knew him from some point in the past, but when? He'd find out later. Right now there was the matter of getting C.Drake up and running again.'If only our A.I. were as good as out cybernetics. Then I wouldn't have to deal with these idiots and their madness"he bemoaned in his head as he opened a portal over Drake's remains and poured a glowing red liquid on them.

Soon the revived and giant Cyborg Drake was stomping around, screaming as loud as he could, shattering windows left and right and crushing cars as he stomped around, having no rhythm nor reason to what he attacked. The Nightmarangers scrambled their Monsterrors to deal with the enraged Cyborg Drake.

Below Takato, Grant, Hitmoi, Sakoya and Nami looked on, wondering how the Nightmarangers shall deal with this demon from another world. But Takato had other things on his mind.

'Could it be that Goth didn't have anything to do with the attack on the center? That he wasn't like the cult members that burned down his house and left him a orphan?' Ever since a doomsday cult ruined his life he hated everything that had to do with darkness. He made it his life's mission to punish those who strayed from the light and if these Nightmarangers are of the dark then he shall deal with them. As well as the source of whatever is sending these beast down to Earth.

Next time: Cyborg Drake battles the Nightmarangers for the last time! Plus will Takakto find Blaise guilty or innocent?
