Well considering the films came out before he anime and I was more talking bout the ending to manga is more closer in the movie of how light dies then in the anime. Due to manga and anime have different endings. In manga light does on spot where they are in wears house in the manga no running to flight of stairs or any thing like they did I. The anime.
