The idea is that Kanzaki tried to use the Rider War to save Yui's life multiple times, but each time he failed and ended up using Odin's Time Vent to rewind time and start over. Episode Final and 13 Riders were earlier versions of the Rider War that subsequently got wound back and done over. The series is the final version as it ends with Kanzaki accepting that Yui doesn't want him to save her like this so they go and draw with crayons forever.

I just had the biggest DUH moment ever. After having seen it so many times I never honestly figured out what the purpose of the Time Vent was. It's just Kanzakis' way of adjusting the battle to hopefully get the outcome he desires. (Which in the case of the series he made the adjustment so that Yui wouldn't disown him or whatever) The real purpose of it was to rewind the battle and start over again. 13 Riders and Episode Final are just failures he wrote over with the TV series using Time Vent to try and get the appropriate outcome. I still never understood why Shinji could remember the future though.
