I agree, and the reason recent rider belt toys have been doing even better than previous years is because these gimmicks are giving henshin item toys extensive play value. If you compare pre-Decade henshin item toys, most of the products had hardwired gimmicks to do a set of things and nothing more than those gimmicks.
Fast Forward to 2010, and we are given Gaia Memories and customers LOVE IT. The modular approach for the toys have opened more opportunities to make money (it is the same reason why Go-onger did so well thanks to the engine soul gimmick in terms of sales making double the amount of Gekiranger's sales) OOO medals further steps up this approach offering customers more than 100 variations of the Combos, and Fourze continues this trend with 40 + astro switches.
