With you dude. We disagree on many things but Akira is just plain boring and awful. I don't deny it's impact but it is terrible.

Glad I'm not alone. Again, the Miyazaki films have had a huge impact on anime. I fully recognize this. But it doesn't make them any less terrible to me.

As for the topic of cooky crazy off the wall anime, i actually really like the fan service stuff like Burn Up Excess. That show was hilarious and awesome and weird all at the same time. I'm probably alone in saying that I enjoyed it but I also thought I was alone when I said I hated Miyazaki
