[Open Your Eyes]

Finally got around to finishing this. Despite some questionable choices, the last handful of episodes were pretty fun and enjoyable. Just, y'know, not enough to justify the horrid pacing and lack of characterization that plagued the rest of the series. I agree with an earlier statement that some of these late-comer characters should have been sprinkled in earlier and more often. That would have made a world of difference. Anyway, by far my least favorite of the franchise, at least until I start on the anime since the reviews of the first two episodes weren't that great from what I saw.

It's sad, before this series I was basically obsessed with Garo: marathoning the entire season over one week, spending more $$$ than my girl would like on merch, re-watching the whole epic again - which I have never done with anything toku, and yet this season pretty much killed my enthusiasm cold. I tried saving episodes and watching them in batches since some shows work better that way, but it didn't help me here.

I hope the next live action series can be a return to greatness.
