Only with Flash Thompson as Venom did they finally manage to make Venom a character again and not just a gimmick. Flash has a personality you can actually work with and tell stories in the long run that are actually worthwhile.

With Brock you never had that. they tried to move that character forward and never could. Thats why that character fell into the background becuase they just couldnt manage to keep that guy relevant in any form.

Yup I say let that remnant of the 90s die...
