Been a couple days and I'm still gushing over the look of Starninger. I'm my opinion, he is one of the best designed "sixth" rangers and it's not even close. Everything here just works, and it makes sense. I think my favorite part about his suit is the "shield." I put it in quotes because it's not what we have grown accustomed to in regards to a ranger shield, but it makes so much sense. It's a bandana and a poncho(typical cowboy wear) shaped to look like Dragon Ranger's shield. Mind blown.
I do wonder if it's going to be a material like the other Ninja's sashes, or if it will be a harder surface simulating that type of material. The helmet is top notch as well. It maintains the shuriken(in this case sheriff badge)look, but also has a concave dome and brim to make it a cowboy hat. It's a genius design that is different, but still fits with the team. Another cool design is his belt. It's the same as the others, but has an extra strap that is attached and runs across the leg. It looks like that's where he keeps one of his shuriken like a gun holster, bringing together the ninja and cowboy elements nicely.
Dragon and King ranger are my favorites from a nostalgic aspect, and Toq 6 brought something new to the table which gets him on my list. Starninger is a modern classic for me though. Does everything right in my opinion, and I think it will hold up over the years unlike Kiba Ranger. I know that won't be popular, but the older I've become the more I've noticed things about Kiba that I just don't like anymore. Anywho, I'm done waxing poetic about this American cowboy and can't wait to see a live shot of him.
Also, one of the guys on the Castranger podcast said Starninger might be more American than Titanium Ranger. I laughed harder than I should have. Starninger wins on that alone. So pumped for this.
