I've made my thoughts pretty clear on both Twitter and Facebook. This is awful in almost every single way. I guess I have to commend the thought they put into crafting the story, but it missed the mark in every single way. Unnecessarily dark and gory, turning heroes into villains etc. It represents just about everything I hate about Hollywood remakes these days. And despite somehow getting a big name like Katee Sachoff on board, she still gave a flat and uninspired performance.

That said, if this thing really IS meant as parody/commentary then its both genius and depressing. The general consensus for this video from non-fans who grew up with MMPR is shocking. The idea that everything from your childhood has to grow up with you is nauseating.

I'm not convinced that is the case at all though, it all sounds like backtracking to me. You could make that kind of point on a fraction of the budget and effort. This just has "make a popular viral video" written all over it.
