When they found out that this was incorporating the fact that the actress who played Trini was dead (the funeral scene), the fandom lost its shit. "HOW DARE THEY PORTRAY THAT SHE DIED IN TO THIS MOVIE?!" "THE CHARACTER IS ALIVE BUT THE ACTRESS IS NOT, SO MUCH POOR TASTE!"

Yet, here they allude to the fact that Billy is gay - even though the character was never portrayed as such, just the actor. So where's the uproar?

This has nothing to do with anyone and their sexual preference - this is just over the fact the fandom picks and chooses what it gets upset about.
