I think a good example of a more complex original suit is the Mega Mode design in Power Rangers Samurai. It felt complete, polished and didn't look as if it was pasted together from various parts. At least not to me.

I just wish they'd use them as more than for just Zord battles. Same goes with the Shogun Mode. Seems like a waste of budget to make individual suits for each ranger, and then only use them for a short 3 minute Zord battle. Sometimes not even that.
