If Drive sticks with the act with Shinnosuke & Hayase, it'd be much better, a great chance for the character development. However sadly after episode 6, they completely ignored it and just threw new Shift Cars in new episodes. They just stop focusing on Shinnosuke after episode 6, really.
Maybe this is a trade off for having a great support character (Kiriko) in recent years.

Yeah dude. I honestly feel like some of the shift cars have had more development than Shinnosuke lol
