I found Armada to be the worst series around. It was completely horrid. Cybertron was just mediocre, with droning plots (The Velocitron arc went on for so freaking long...) and dull characters.

I can't talk about all the Japanese made series, but based on the 5 that I have seen (Headmasters, RID (1), Armada, Energon, and Cybertron), only one (Cybertron) ever hit "Decent" in terms of quality. The rest were just utter trash.

I once heard that Japan treats Transformers as a very juvenile show, a series that should be aimed at the 6-9 age range, rather than the 8-12 one America aims for. With how they handle their series, I'm inclined to believe that rumor.
