Escape from New York - Amazing movie and Shout's new BD is phenomenal. It looks absolutely fantastic and I can never watch the movie on anything lesser again. I give it a 9/10.
The Spy Who Loved Me - A little too silly at times but this is one of Moore's best movies with some truly great set pieces. I love nearly everything that is done in Cairo, especially the folklore bit. I give it a 7/10.
Mad Max - I have no idea what the big deal of this movie is about. Sure, it is a harmless movie and it had some really great moments to it. It wasn't bad or anything, but I just don't see why people praise it. It didn't even feel remotely post apocalyptic. The characters seemed to mumble more than speak and it didn't really seem to go anywhere. I'm glad I finally saw it, but I just don't see how it goes from this to what has been shown in the trailers of the new one. Granted, there are two more movies, so maybe some big nuclear bomb goes off in one of those, but for what this was, it was average. I give it a 6/10. Like I said, nothing spectacular, but nothing terrible either.
Mad Max 2- I still felt a little under whelmed by this one, but for different reasons. The car chase scenes were pretty awesome and made me want to play Twisted Metal, but the movie was a little too over the top in silliness. The main bad guy leader makes He-Man look straight. I also did not care for the lack of any sort of development for Max at all. He was the same in the beginning as it was in the end, so that was disappointing. The dialog was still drowned out by the music at times too, which was also annoying. Still, it was fun to see so I give it a 7/10.
Mad Max 3 - Wow, this was absolute pig ****!! Why is the new one taking place after this one? The story made no sense whatsoever and it just gets worse as it goes along. Not just that, but what was the point of Auntie chasing after them when she just leaves Max? No wonder it took them 30 years to make a new one. I give this crap a 3/10.
