Well, a big part must be the shock, going by the original teaser a regular crossover was expected, something like Marvel VS Capcom, Project X Zone or Super Robot Wars.

The actual reveal however showed a game that fused ideas from both worlds, yet looked like neither, it seems interesting for sure, but for those who hoped for grid based combat/demon negotiation/etc. it came out of nowhere.

It's definitely an overreaction, you can't really judge much from such a short trailer, but the shock was real and people have exploded in the past for lesser reasons.
