Something I like to do every so often is to recreate logos for toku series. I do this as a sort of self teaching practice so I can figure out how the graphic artist who made the logos in the first place did their magic. Most of the time I take a Japanese logo and translate the characters to romanized (English) characters. This time though... I did something a little different.
This was inspired by a series I saw where someone took the logos for two rivals, and mixed up the text (Microsoft and Apple, McDonald's and Burger King, etc). And I have been meaning to try to deconstruct the MMPR logo anyway.. so here we are!
Everything you see here (with the exception of the original image at the bottom) was created using vectors and fonts. The fonts have been heavily changed to create the final product.
