Personally, I always enjoyed the musical numbers in Magi and found them rather charming. (just saying- "for babies" makes you sound like a teenager in the middle of puberty ) It was one of the reasons why I enjoyed Magi so much as a teen, actually and I even listened to the songs when I wasn't actively watching Sentai anymore.

I think this is more a matter of taste, but as a person who grew up with musicals of pretty much any possible kind, the music in Magi was very enjoyable to me. Yes, the lyrics where "childish"- but Sentai is still a children's TV show, after all.
