Yeah thats the funny thing about the Grongi. What they are actually saying isnt as important as most (myself included) think when they are watching the show for the first time. Their actions are much more important and tell you alot in those early episodes.

The language is less a way to withhold information and just a stylistic choice to make them seem weird and otherworldly. Even when they learn japanese later on what they are saying wont make much sense.
