I don't like the idea of Paleo losing Thero permanently at any juncture, though. So I don't like the idea of sacrificing the other stones for Omni. I do think that maybe the reason they create Omni is to somehow artificially achieve the power levels that Extinction class can provide without the dangerous side effects. Obviously it wouldn't be quite good enough.

What if the Extinction Amber is a bit larger and looks like a falling meteor. When it's inserted into the driver, the jaws bite down on its tail, but the mouth doesn't actually close over the stone. (As in, the mouth remains open with the Meteor visible between its jaws.) The magnifying glass that selects the power ups before could be some kind of limiter that increases the power level the further it goes. There could also be some kind of button interaction on the stone itself, perhaps. Maybe I could sketch something up to illustrate...

The thought process is that (if these were actual toys) the Extinction Amber would be large enough to offer its own lights and sounds alongside the driver, unlike a standard stone. Beyond that, this form could have it's own unique weapon too, maybe.
