Considering how he's only a badass after he becomes Kiva it could be inferred that he doesn't consider himself Kiva, that Kiva embodies all his worst traits, that Kiva is evil and Wataru is good. Are you talking about Rook? The guy was a bumbling amnesiac when Wataru found him. He thought he was a poor judge of Dai's character, but he didn't know Dai was Rook. If he did, he'd probably either kill him, have Nago kill him, or have Megumi kill him.
