It's like, I was so hyped for Megaforce, because it represented an opportunity to improve over Samurai. I mean, back in the day, the excuse was that Samurai was new, and Saban was relearning the ropes so that's why it wasn't that great. I could accept that. So it seemed like Saban was really going to try something with Megaforce, with Gosei, the Ranger War connection, an original story, etc.

I was still pretty entertained by the show until Episode 3's moment. I just ... that moment just punched me in the face. I mean, Power Rangers has never been seamlessly perfect; the odd Japanese sign appears here and there, the Rangers are in the quarry one moment and in the city the next. Even RPM had some weird changes of scenery. But all that is excusable, it is simply the editors trying their best to work with what they've got.

But that moment. That was a sign of apathy. I just couldn't wrap my head around it, because it's not even some aesthetic consistency. It's not like in In Space when suddenly video game elements appear out of nowhere. That's fine, it's the limitations of the footage. This one was a clear cut error that could EASILY have been fixed.

I tried long and hard to reconcile those two scenes. I just couldn't explain it away. So when episode 4 came about ... I just wasn't that interested in watching anymore.
