As someone who gave up Drive early on, I don't feel it was outright terrible. I just felt it was mediocre, and with over 40 more episodes looming over (And, since it was just airing at the time, no one knew whether it'd wallow in mediocrity or improve), I didn't feel it would be worth the time to invest. Knowing that it does improve is nice to know, and gives me some desire to actually finish it.

But it's surprising to hear that you don't hate any series. I'm a harsh critic, but I try to be fair in my feelings towards a series. I can't fathom how to not just loathe some series
