The closest I ever got was before X&Y going "hey, maybe they'll do an anti-eugenics message with Team Flare since they apparently 'want to make the world beautiful' and the villain teams always use really crappy Pokemon so Team Flare would justify it as 'these Pokemon are bad so we see them as disposable and worthless."

Why can't anyone ever just have fun anymore? It's all about "dark gritty adult subversions."
