Not saying that's a bad thing, but having to go through everything and give recommendations on each kinda requires dedication to the series. As in, watching everything. Don't watch Victory Gundam because it's "disconnected from the rest of U.C.", don't watch it because the plot is a frigging mess.

Oh god yes. That show is so broken in terms of story telling. It's just the weakest plot ever. Dry characters & non-existent plot coupled with more than a few unnecessary and weirdly unorthodox MS designs make Victory one of my least favorite series. Right down at the bottom with Reconguista & 0080.
