The only things I don't think work in the prequels from a continuity point of view is Anakin's age and C3PO. In the original movies Anakin was supposed to be Luke's age when Obiwan first met him and C3PO is supposed to be 112 years old. Oh, and I did think it was lame that Palaptine's face was melted by his lightning being reflected at him instead of Force Corruption.

I think Rebels is the biggest proof though that Disney is not going to eliminate the prequels from continuity. If they were, they would not have put Clone Wars characters in to the show.

I agree on people complaining about Anakin, people change and 18 years is a long time. Anakin was in his late twenties when he dawned the suit? So by A New Hope he's at least in his 40s.

Honestly, I think a lot of people's problems with the prequels was that what they saw didn't fit their imagintion. It's kind of like a problem with casting movies based on books, where a lot of it is based on your imagination, except everyone generally imagined Darth Vader to have a badass personality with variations within that and Lucas throwing a curveball.
