I don't know what possessed me (Kintaros?), but I picked this back up just before Halloween, and I'm a few episodes away from completing the series. For whatever reason, I'm enjoying it more now. It clearly seems to want to play out as a tragedy. I was baffled by Emperor Kiva's sudden transformation into a flying monster form until I watched the Kiva movie this weekend. (Now, I'm baffled due to Strange Hair Taiga, out-of-nowhere Riders, and the impossibility of fitting the movie into series continuity.) So they'd already cast the actor for Taiga, but because they hadn't actually worked him into the show, they had the actor show up as a completely different character with unlikely hair?

"Go to hell" was amazing, though.

I should finish the show in the next few days. (I've been pairing it with the suddenly-reworked Go-Busters, which was showing a lot of promise before the Gavan two-parter.)
