It's one thing if you, the fans, don't like the characters, that's fine. To each his own. But the Zero 2 cast are these guys friends, and for them to not bring them up makes them seem more like jerks than I remember. I don't have to like Yamacha to recognize that Goku forgetting about him is a dick move.

There's no reason to assume it's been a few days, it could have been months, the battle with Alphamon might have happened a year ago, when the gate closed.

One of the trailers apparently bring up this line "This world has chosen the reality and the future which shouldn't have been chosen" So a fair amount of people do think memeories or time might be getting manipulated too.

Yeah, I get ya and I personally think the way they handled it was a bit over the top, but in-universe there might be a perfectly logical reason as to why they aren't brought up, the fact that they showed up in the first place means they'll have a role.
