I just completed watching Carranger and it took me about 20 episodes to be ok with the lighter tone. My favorites so far have been Shinkenger, Liveman, Jetman & Dairanger, all of which are fairly serious. Once I learned to appreciate the approach, I did start liking it a lot more.

Now on to Megaranger in my Sentai watching journey.

My first two series were Shinkenger and Goseiger. Since Gokaiger had so many references to earlier series, I decided to go back to the beginning and have watched nearly all of the available subbed episodes from Goranger forward (I will have to go back to the later Goranger, Battle Fever & other early series that were done after I started).

PS - I did also just complete Bioman since I had watched up to 38 before GUIS completed the series.
