it is nice that his death is different from other characters but maybe he shouldn't die at all.

I think Gai's death was handled well. It was done to protect someone else, he still prioritized his friends' feelings and did his best to meet them for a special event, but he didn't betray who he was and kept it to himself, keeping in tune with his loner tendencies.
It sucked that he didn't go out in flames, but he still did die a hero.

I totally forgot about them not really liking being the jetman.
The way you say it really makes me feel better about his death. (Even tought I wanted him to stay alive)
It was the right way to die for Gai.
