Because he doesn't do anything except give out moral support which could be given to Kendall to give her some sort of character growth. We saw Keeper prtoect the energems and fight in episode one, then randomly appear in episodes sporadically throughout the season (to do nothing but talk up the Rangers), unbond an energem from Albert, and fight and get captured in the last episode.

For someone who is supposed to be the mentor of the team; he's barely ever there to actually mentor and/or he barely does anything.
